Mission
The HHSA provides a forum for parents and teachers to work together to
improve the school community. Each year the HHSA sponsors programs and
activities that enhance student learning and promote family involvement in
student achievement.
Who can be a member?
All family, teachers, staff, community members, and local business
interested in supporting Hawthorne school can be members. So that means YOU!
While the HHSA board meets monthly to oversee the "business" side
of the
HHSA operations, the HHSA also sponsors monthly social and learning
opportunities. Theses monthly gatherings are a great way for teachers and
parents to come together and get to know each other.
When does HHSA meet?
HHSA gathers on the third Tuesday of the month from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
Food and childcare are always provided!
Each meeting include a brief business meeting and a special program for
families to socialize and learn about a wide variety of issues. From
curriculum to school funding to parenting issues, you name it. It it is of
interest to our families we want to get together and talk about it!

How are these programs funded?
While the primary mission of the HHSA is to support programs at the
school that encourages family involvement, in order to accomplish this we
need money. So HHSA sponsors two major fundraisers each year, collects Cub
foods receipts, "Box Tops", and Campbell's Soup "Labels for Education", and
accepts donations from Hawthorne families, businesses and other supporters
who share the HHSA goal to build a strong, vibrant community of learners.
How do I become a member?
Joining is easy. Just contact any of the officers or complete a
membership form and drop it in the HHSA-PTA mailbox located in the main.
There is no fee to join. Signing up as a member-volunteer is a great way
to show your support for the school and to connect with other families,
staff and programming her at Hawthorne.
